In this story the Norwegian journalist writes: "Nordvestpassasjen nord for Canada." This is not correct. The Northwest Passage lies within Canada's territorial waters and borders. It does not lie north of Canada as this Norwegian journalists states in his story. In fact, this story is stated as written by Jane George under the title in Ny Tid, but Jane George wrote the original news story for the Nunatsiaq News in Nunavut, Canada. Ny Tid has taken the Jane George story, translated it into Norwegian and changed some of the details.
In the original story from Canada, it states: http://www.nunatsiaq.com/archives/60526/news/climate/60526_03.html
The Ny Tid story states: "Nordvestpassasjen nord for Canada," but the Canadian story does not say this at all. The original Jane George story has been changed to say this, with no reference to whom at Ny Tid changed the original Canadian story. Why would a Norwegian news media outlet take a Canadian story, translate it, and then change some of the details of the original story? The original story does not state the Northwest Passage lies north of Canada. Ny Tid makes this statement, but writes that Jane George states this. The story has never been corrected.
