Here is a web site listing the Norwegian Frode Gjerstad Trio touring Canada and USA in December 2007. On the web site it states Montreal, Canada and Toronto, Canada are part of their "US X-mas Tour." Montreal and Toronto are Canada's largest two cities with over 8 million people living in two cities combined. Montreal is the world's second largest French speaking city after Paris and is located in the French part of Canada. Toronto is Canada's largest English speaking city. Neither Canadian city are in located in the USA. Why is this tour not called the "Frode Gjerstad Trio Canada and U.S. X-mas Tour," or the "Frode Gjerstad Trio U.S.A. and Canada X-mas Tour," or the "Frode Gjerstad Trio North America X-mas Tour?" This is like the Canadian band Nikkleback coming to Sweden and Norway or Germany and Norway and writing: "Nikkleback Sweden X-mas Tour" or "Nikkleback German X-mas Tour." Why does this site list these two Canadian cities as part of the USA tour when they are not located in the USA? Would this band title their tour the "Frode Gjerstad trio Canada X-mas Tour" if they were also visiting USA cities? Not likely, so why do the Canadian cities get listed as part of the USA tour when they are not in the USA? Do they not have enough respect and common sense to not make these Canadian cities part of the USA? If they were touring Australia and New Zealand or Germany and Austria would they leave out New Zealand and Austria from there tour name? If they are touring Canada would it not be called the "Frode Gjerstad trio Canadian X-mas Tour"? Why is it so often in Norwegian reporting relating to Canada that Canada is so often listed as part of the USA, under the USA, or as some 2nd class country to the USA? Is it really so hard to extend to Canada the same common courtesy extended to the USA, Australia, and the U.K. Why do Norwegians so often treat Canada in the same way many countries around the world treat Norway - as some 2nd class part of Sweden? Norwegians don't like it, so why do Norwegians treat Canada in the same way they don't being treated themselves? On the web site it states: "FRODE GJERSTAD TRIO Dates: 10th - 20th December Where: USA Booking: Paal Nilssen-Love" "19/12/2007 Frode Gjerstad trio US X-mas tour Toronto, Canada venue: TBA20/12/2007 Frode Gjerstad trio US X-mas tour La Sala Rosa, Montreal, QB 4873 st. laurent montreal, qc. H2T 1R5."
